Job Purpose:
Oversee the formulation and execution of goals and procedures related to quality assurance and control.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Supervise and mentor Quality Inspectors, approve schedules, participate in interviews, counseling, and terminations.
Review and update all manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), current work instruction manuals, and create new instructions as required.
Develop a systematic audit program for quality control checks.
Establish quality compliance objectives and ensure their attainment.
Implement, conduct, and assess testing on all products, ensuring conformity to specifications, and instigate preventive actions.
Minimize scrap and associated quality costs.
Review and uphold a calibration system.
Develop and implement a color matching system for manufacturing.
Collaborate with the Purchasing Department to set quality requirements for external suppliers, evaluate their performance, and encourage continuous improvement.
Foster positive working relationships, collaborate with functional departments on quality product issues, guide all departments in continuous improvement efforts, and attend production meetings.
Address corrective actions for customer issues and ensure ongoing implementation.
Manage the customer satisfaction measurement system.
Prepare all required state documentation, such as Product-Specific Quality Control Plans.
Facilitate the Management Review and distribute minutes.
Identify and provide relevant quality-related training.
Manage the department budget.
Undertake cross-functional responsibilities between corporate and operational offices to fulfill additional duties as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in quality control/assurance or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma, ISO 9001:
2008, or equivalent is a plus.
